I have always put leather into the “material only appropriate for a great handbag or a pair of shoes” category. As clothing, I have always shied away from leather, thinking it look too harsh plus – the investment and maintenance- yikes! But, with textile technology continuing to advance, I’ve been noticing that there are move and more vegan leather options available that are not only wallet-friendly but also easy to care for (machine wash-ability is at the top of my list of requirement before making a purchase).

Lately, it seems as though I can’t look at my Insta feed or read a fellow fashion bloggers blog without seeing leather leggings. In an effort to continue to step out of my conform fashion zone, I decided to take the plunge and tryon leather for size – in the form of leggings. I know that there are a lot of great options out there (fashion bloggers rav about this pair) but because I am just dipping my toes into this trend, I wanted to make a smaller investment and first understand how much I will wear them.
When I discovered these at one of my favorite retailers, I took the leap and clicked purchase. When I tried them on I was presently surprised – they looked polished and sophisticated and, when paired with an oversized tunic length sweater, totally work appropriate! They come in a full range of sizes (up to XL), including petite! For reference, I ended up purchasing an xs petite and they fit perfect. Also, they are machine washable (hang to dry) and, because of the leather texture are 100% lint and hair-grabbing free – an unexpected bonus!
What do you think friends, would you give leather leggings a try?
